Ayurveda follows a very simple fundamental of self control and regulation. Following a healthy diet chart and keeping a control over the worldly desires is what one requires to gain longevity and health. One must have a self control to do all this, and ayurveda prescribes meditation for this purpose.
Meditation is the art of looking into your own self, by concentrating our awareness towards more positive aspects of life. Different concentration techniques are taught so as to relieve the patient from various psychological distresses and ailments.
Various meditative techniques are practiced to achieve goals such as greater focus, achievement of a higher state of consciousness, or simply a peaceful and relaxed state of mind. Meditation gradually provides more and more peace and a sense of purer happiness.
Meditation enables the practitioner to create an inner space and a sense of purity which keeps the person composed and dedicated regardless of the surrounding circumstances. A psychological equilibrium is developed gradually by regular meditation and the states of despondency or excitement are left with no importance. Regular practice of meditation would help achieve a state of healthy life and also nirvana.
Meditation is not a very tough task to try and practice, as it may come across to many. It is very obvious that the concentration levels on the first few sessions would be very low, but with the time would become more relaxing and of a tranquilizing nature. One just needs to sit down in a comfortable posture and try and concentrate over a point with closed eyes. This would slowly help to attain a state of mental stability and relieve mental exhaustion as the connection with the outside world would merely exist.
This state of tranquility helps the body to repair itself and along with ayurvedic medication help heal the ailments slowly and steadily
